Lupus is an inflammatory disorder
that can be very painful. In general
terms, your
immune system becomes
hyperactive.
Under normal conditions the immune
system produces antibodies
to help ward off disease.
In the case of Lupus, the
immune system goes a bit crazy and produces so many
antibodies that they begin to attack healthy cells as
well as diseased ones.

Different types of Lupus
Cutaneous Lupus affects the skin on your feet (as well
as other areas on your body)
Systemic Lupus
affects the joints of your toes, blood vessels, blood flow
and nerves in your feet (as well as, other organs in the body).
Though exact causes are still unknown, there
could be genetic link and the development of the disease
after exposure to some foreign agent, such as a virus.
Other people believe changes in hormone levels, infections,
reactions to penicillin, extreme stress, certain drugs and
ultraviolet light can all trigger the condition to
intensify.
