Heel Fissures are cracks in the skin on the outer edge of
the heels. Heel Fissures can get quite deep into the skin, sometimes causing the cracks to bleed. If the skin cracks,
then infections from bacteria, viruses and foot fungi can
be become a problem.
Heel Fissures are often caused by going barefoot,
wearing open heeled shoes, excessive dry climates, problems
with sweat gland in the feet, and when there is too much
pressure on the feet (being overweight).
