Heel Fissures

What are Heel Fissures?

Heel Fissures are cracks in the skin on the outer edge of the heels.

Heel Fissures can get quite deep into the skin, sometimes causing the cracks to bleed.

If the skin cracks, then infections from bacteria, viruses and foot fungi can be become a problem.

Heel Fissures are often caused by going barefoot, wearing open heeled shoes, excessive dry climates, problems with sweat gland in the feet, and when there is too much pressure on the feet (being overweight).

    Treating Cracked Heels - Fissures:

We recommend good hygiene and a daily inspection of your feet and heels, checking for cracks and infections.

Rubbing your heels with a pumice stone will remove and control the buildup of thick hard skin. Using a pumice stone on a regular basis will help to smooth the skin so your socks don't snag.

Wear shoes that have supportive heel cup. The heel cup in the shoe will help to reduce the fatty heel pad from flattening out and cracking.

Shoes should have flexible soles to absorb some the shock of walking and running.

    FIR Socks for Cracked Heels:

The threads in FarInfraredFashion.com  products are fused with a safe formula of bio-ceramics that emit beneficial far infrared rays (FIR). These waves of soothing energy penetrate deep into the tissues of your body and basically increase (stimulate) the molecular activity of the cells.

The stimulation of the tiny capillaries and veins in your body dilate the cells and allow fresh oxygenated blood containing vital nutrients to reach afflicted areas. Swelling is reduced, accumulated toxins are released, bacterial infections are retarded, and the heel skin is gradually replaced with new smoother skin.

Far Infrared Rays are very helpful in reducing inflammation and relieving your pain. Depending on the severity of the heel fissures, and how long you have been experiencing symptoms, it may take a bit longer to feel the benefits of natural FIR therapy.
