| Poor circulation is described as
insufficient blood flow. Inadequate blood flow can cause
areas of the body to be deprived of oxygen and fresh
nutrients. Poor circulation can cause secondary problems
of edema, arthrosclerosis, (hardening of the arteries).
Poor circulation your hands, feet,
low limbs etc is usually an
indication of some other underlying disorder.
Your
circulatory system is made up of the heart, arteries,
capillaries and veins.
This system is responsible for
transporting fresh oxygenated blood from the lungs to the
individual cells via the arteries, and then, lugging the
used, depleted or de-oxygenated blood, back to the lungs
though the veins.
If this system is restricted in any way, you will
have less energy, possibly feel dizzy, and generally
feel colder.
The extremities, like your hands and feet, are
usually the most affected, and will feel colder than the
core of your body.
