RSI is a term used to describe a wide variety of conditions
that are very repetitive in their action, resulting in an
overuse of the muscles and tendons of your hands, arms and
upper back. Keyboarding, typing, mousing (computer related
actions), excessive video game playing, and even "cording" repetitive notes on a guitar.
Some conditions are named: Carpal tunnel syndrome,
Cubital tunnel syndrome, DeQuervain's syndrome, Focal
dystonia, Gamekeeper's thumb, "Gamer's thumb", Intersection
syndrome, Radial tunnel syndrome, Reflex sympathetic
dystrophy syndrome (RSDS), Stenosing tenosynovitis,
Tendinitis, Tenosynovitis, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Trigger
finger/thumb and Ulnar nerve entrapment. |
